:::Yes it is. It's just extremely rare. And where his eyes are pitch black, it wouldn't make much sense for him to not be placed in the Black-eyed sims category. Mariaw (talk) 22:26, March 25, 2019 (UTC)

::::Eyes that look black in real life do not exist. They are just dark brown. However I'm not wanting to use a real life application here. I just believe it's more appropriate for Nate to be in the grey-eyed category because that is what his eye color range belongs to. Ѧüя◎ґ (talk) 22:30, March 25, 2019 (UTC)

:::::I think it makes sense to view black as the end of the Wikipedia:Greyscale and therefore put Sims whose eye colour is black in the grey category. It seems like a good way to seperate these Sims from those with non-human eyes (without a white part) and helps to keep the category for black eyes meaningful. —Gvaudoin 💬 22:42, March 25, 2019 (UTC)

::You bring up an interesting debate, since I saw your edit for all the Han family members to dark brown; their eyes are actually a very dark shade of yellow, but I wouldn't say that would be a fitting category (because lets face it, they're not yellow). Wouldn't (nearly) black eyes be more appropriate to go into a (dark) brown section instead of categorizing them by what color they're based on? Or in a very dark grey section. But shouldn't we be consistent about it then? either all of them dark grey or all of them dark brown? :::I'm open to that suggestion. Ѧüя◎ґ (talk) 23:05, March 25, 2019 (UTC)

::::Bah, I took too long writing this! Edit conflict :P

::::Well, okay then. I am willing to end it here. I don't want to further argue (I honestly didn't want to in the first place). In that case, though, I think the Grey-eyed sims category should be renamed "Sims with a greyscale eye color" of "Greyscale-eyed sims". But it doesn't have to be. I don't really mind if it is or not, because it may be a bit of a hassle. I still think his eyes should be listed as black, but I won't change it back because I don't want to further edit war (I honestly didn't want to in the first place).

::::@Auror I looked up if black is a natural eye colour, and it appears that you are correct; truly black eyes are indeed nonexistant. But very dark brown eyes that are almost black seem to usually be considered black. Mariaw (talk) 23:08, March 25, 2019 (UTC)

Note to participants: talk pages are for discussion, not argument. Disagreement is not argument. And it's not about being right or wrong. Let's just avoid passive aggressive language like "If it bothers you so much then do x". 74.198.131.130 (talk) 00:16, March 26, 2019 (UTC)

:If two people disagree, there is almost no doubt they're going to argue about it. I wasn't trying to be passive-aggressive, or declare myself right and Auror wrong, I was just too frustrated to be pleasant. I think this has already been resolved, so there is really no need to comment any further. Mariaw (talk) 00:27, March 26, 2019 (UTC)

::So the real question now is; do we prefer the term grey-eyed Sims or brown-eyed Sims for normal Sims with (nearly) black eyes? DeSims (talk) 00:31, March 26, 2019 (UTC)

:::Okay, so it doesn't seem this is entirely resolved yet :P

:::Not every Sim with very dark eyes necessarily has brown or grey eyes; most Sims in Sunset Valley who have very dark eyes that are nearly black have green-hued eyes. I think it should depend on the hue of the Sim's eye colour. Unless the Sim's eyes are yellow or orange hued; that should be considered brown (as brown is actually very dark orange, and very dark yellow looks brown). Mariaw (talk) 00:38, March 26, 2019 (UTC)

::::@74.198.131.130 I said almost no doubt. And please don't press this any further. Mariaw (talk) 00:46, March 26, 2019 (UTC)

::::I understand what you're sayng @Mariaw , but I've also seen Sims with nearly black eyes that actually had a pink or purple hue. You wouldn't consider them pink or purple-eyed right? Because their eyecolor doesn't look pink, or purple. In that case it would be closer to a reeeaaally dark grey, or in a more 'realistic' kind of way dark brown. If the majority of the people seem to think that going with the hue is the better way to go I'm obviously open for it, but I don't think it would make much sense. Very simply put; the eyecolor as shown on the Sim is not in the hue of pink/yellow/green/whatever color, but rather look black, dark grey or dark brown.DeSims (talk) 01:48, March 26, 2019 (UTC)

:::::You do make a very good point. I think the eyes of a Sim with very dark eyes should be considered whatever it looks closest to, but only if it really doesn't look like the actual hue. Very dark purple or pink eyes do usually look grey, as you said. Mariaw (talk) 01:57, March 26, 2019 (UTC)

:I feel like this issue is still not resolved, especially because I see @Mariaw changing other Sims' eyecolor based on their hue. Could we come to a decision (either a vote or mutual agreement or whatever) because this way we are still treating every case different. I would be down for whatever. Either basing it on the hue, or simply on what color it (most) looks like (black, dark brown, dark grey etc.) DeSims (talk) 23:48, April 1, 2019 (UTC)

::Just in case you're referring to the edits I made today, I only changed it to green on Milton's page because that seems to be how most people, such as Auror, would prefer it be, and on Madison's page, I changed it because her eye colour is orange, which is not even close to hazel :P

::Anyway, I actually do think eye colour (and hair colour, for that matter) should be based on whatever it looks most like. As you have said, even if a colour is on a certain hue, it does not necessarily mean it LOOKS like that hue (for example, Molly French's hair colour looks brown, but it's actually a very dark shade of yellow. And the Langeraks, and multiple other pre-made Sims in Sunset Valley (such as aforementioned Milton Tong), have extremely dark green-hued eyes that don't look green at all no matter how closely you zoom in. And to be honest, I see no valid reason why Humans can't also go in the Black-eyed sims category).

::Despite that, I am open to both options. I kind of do think there should be some kind of vote over this, because I too don't believe this has really been resolved yet. And I think a vote would be the best way to resolve it. Mariaw (talk) 00:09, April 2, 2019 (UTC)

:::I would be fine with a separate category for alien eyes (Category:Alien eyes) so that aliens and normal Sims are not placed in the same category. With a separate alien category, I would have no issue with the Sims having the black-eyed category. Ѧüя◎ґ (talk) 20:28, May 28, 2019 (UTC)

::::Okay, I'm open to that. I think it would make more sense too, especially as the file name for alien eyes in The Sims 2 is uuface_eye_alien, not uuface_eye_black. I personally have no problem with Aliens and Humans going in the same eye colour category (I believe the colour of the iris is far more important than the colour of the Sclera), but I admit it would make sense to have separate categories for them. I'm pretty sure there are more pre-made human Sims in TS3 with black eyes or eyes in such a dark shade that they appear black in-game and in CAS, than pre-made aliens with completely black eyes.

::::Also, I'm really sorry if I previously made this out to be a bigger deal than it needed to be, or if I seemed like I thought my opinion was more important; I really didn't mean to, I just thought his eye colour information should be based off of the fact that his irises are black, not the fact that his sclera is not.
