==Sim Bot==

The Sim Bot is looking more and more distinct from the Servo. It may warrant splitting this page and giving it a page of its own. <small>—Preceding unsigned comment added by [[User:Kiwi tea|Kiwi tea]] ([[User talk:Kiwi tea|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/Kiwi tea|contribs]]) 12:44, May 31, 2010 - Sign your comments with <nowiki>~~~~</nowiki></small>

Since I only own TS3, I can't check which version is used in game. Could someone check and then fix this, please? --[[Special:Contributions/93.129.200.91|93.129.200.91]] 19:54, November 18, 2010 (UTC)

Servo is both the name (which is changeable when building them on the robot station) and the class name; both uses are correct but for consistancy, one should be selected and used throughout the article. Also, for theuse of the name "servo" it likely refers to "servo" from "servomechanism" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Servomechanism) and neither of the roots given currently in the article is relevant. <small>—Preceding unsigned comment added by [[User:24.77.26.31|24.77.26.31]] ([[User talk:24.77.26.31|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/24.77.26.31|contribs]]) 12:37, November 4, 2011 (UTC) - Please sign your comments with <nowiki>~~~~</nowiki></small>
:Yes, both uses are correct, either it's the name or the type of creature. However, since every person's game can name their own Servos, this article has to use the general term, which is Servo. The same happens to cat, for example. You have a pet cat, but you haven't yet named it, so you have to call it cat too, right? ==I never expected to see ''this''==
I took a Sim to a community lot with a pool, and saw a Servo who was visiting the lot get in the pool and try to swim. The Servo didn't short out, but didn't like it much either. [[User:Dharden|Dharden]] ([[User_talk:Dharden|talk]]) 15:19, December 25, 2011 (UTC)
:Hmm... I'll put that in my note. I also got something odd with Servo. I impregnated [[Marla Biggs]] with her Servo husband via LD Tombstone, and guess what? The baby's eyes are grey! Marla's eyes are green. Does this mean Servo actually has genetics? [[User:Nikel23|'''<span style="color:#007FFF; text-shadow: #ACE5EE 0 4px 4px;">Nikel</span>''']] [[User talk:Nikel23|<span style="color: #30D5C8 ; text-shadow: #00FFEF 0 4px 4px;">''Talk''</span>]] 04:44, December 26, 2011 (UTC)
::It turns out I once experienced that too! Only I forgot. BTW, it seems that if Servo pulls the sprinkler prank, he will not short-circuit. However, if someone else pulls the prank, he will. Odd, eh? Or maybe it's just a coincidence he didn't short-circuit at that time. ==Servo's appearance if aged down and back up==
I know that if you age a servo to a different life stage and then age them back to adult, they will look like a normal Sim with a random face template (though often the 2nd face template "Archbase", if a mirror is used to change their appearance using a hack). So they'll basically look like a normal Sim with a robotic voice.

However when I saved the game and exited it, I found that when the next saw that Sim, they had regained their servo appearance, and looked nothing like a regular Sim, once more. I'm not sure if it had something to do with making them an NPC, but the fact is that they look just like a servo again. It came as a neutral surprise to me.

Was it just because I converted them to an NPC and left them in the adult life stage? Or does this happen to all servos you try to make look like normal Sims? ― '''[[User:C.Syde65|<font color="maroon">C.Syde</font>]]''' ([[User talk:C.Syde65|<font color="black">talk</font>]] &#124; [[:Special:Contributions/C.Syde65|<font color="black">contribs</font>]]) 00:30, July 11, 2015 (UTC)

:I've just gone back and re-traced the somewhat belated recollection of my memory, that suggests that this only happens if he is made into an NPC using mods. ― '''[[User:C.Syde65|<font color="maroon">C.Syde</font>]]''' ([[User talk:C.Syde65|<font color="black">talk</font>]] &#124; [[:Special:Contributions/C.Syde65|<font color="black">contribs</font>]]) 05:06, July 11, 2015 (UTC)

::I've just checked in-game again, and it turns out that when that servo appears in-game, he looks like a servo, but if he is directed to change into his everyday outfit, he will look like a Sim. It's similar to how NPCs will still wear their NPC outfit (and hats if any), when they spawn in-game, even if you use cheats to change their appearance and/or clothes. ― '''[[User:C.Syde65|<font color="maroon">C.Syde</font>]]''' ([[User talk:C.Syde65|<font color="black">talk</font>]] &#124; [[:Special:Contributions/C.Syde65|<font color="black">contribs</font>]]) 09:06, July 15, 2015 (UTC)
