When adding new patches we should strive to keep the same formatting. A good rule of thumb would be to copy-paste the layout of the previous patch. Just remember to remove all the content on the page, but not the tables. Update game versions and dates. Add relevant images. Adopt a simple bullet listing of changes. Split changes for expansions and stuff packs into new level 2 headlines. Most importantly: Don't add, modify or delete the notes from EA's site. Correcting a typo or punctuation error is okay, but keep notes, clarifications, helpful links and after-thoughts in references. | Duskey | 14:44, June 15, 2010 (UTC)

:::::To answer your question, Eduardog, no... I never edit complex pages in RTE, since it causes way too many problems for me. -- LostInRiverview talk · blog 02:39, September 25, 2010 (UTC)
::::::I think one possible solution is to save the table to a template so if another part of the page is edited, it won't break the table.--Eduardog3000

patch 17
patch 17 has been released it said on my lancher an up date is avalible it and it said it was 4.5 (ambitions) missing out 4.4 so it must be patch 17 JRCS+CAS 14:08, October 27, 2010 (UTC)

Patch 5
The table has incorrect information about Patch 5. Patch 5 was 1.5.82 , and was installed by World Adventures, if a newer patch was not already installed. Patch 5 did not have a direct download link, and corresponds to WA patch level 2.0.86 .

According to the official EA "Incremental updates" page (http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/188505.page) :

Patch 1.5 comes with World Adventures and will install if not patched past 1.4.

Patches 6 and 7 were released within a few days of the WA launch, so many people already had a later patch installed, by the time they installed WA. Combine this with the fact that 1.5 was never available for download, and you get the mistaken impression that patch 1.5 didn't exist, or was superseded by 1.6 . The table should be updated to merge the row "WA released" and "Patch 5" into a single row:

Patch 5 1.5.82 2.0.86 11/10/09

How to edit the patch table
How do you edit the table? It lets me edit the actual page, but not the patch table. 79.147.78.139 (talk) 23:05, March 9, 2012 (UTC)

Having near to zero knowledge with these things, I proudly found it all by myself just by playing with the URL: http://sims.wikia.com/index.php?title=The_Sims_3/patch/table&action=edit 79.147.78.139 (talk) 23:24, March 9, 2012 (UTC)

Official Announcement links
I found out that some of the links of each patch page link to non-English pages in TheSims3.com. I don't know what language that is, and if it's the original language the web is using, but I'd rather they link to English language, because this is English wiki. Also, some of the links are broken too. Can anyone fix the source? ::Check out the Official Announcement links in patch 31, 32, and 33. They're all not in English and are broken links. There might be some more, but I'm not going to check one by one. :::are you sure? the link is fine, in English, and straight from the sims 3 website. Wiryawan310 12:10, March 22, 2012 (UTC)
::::Gulp. Then... I guess something is wrong when I browse the site... or my settings. :/ Oh well, luckily I have no affiliations there... == Question regarding patch number suffixes ==

I see that the same patch can have different versions of it, ending in 001, 002, 003, 005 or 017. I seem to understand these suffixes represent different regions. 001 seems to be US, 002 seems to mean Worldwide, and 017 Digital Download. Is this correct? And what do 003 and 005 represent? Thanks. Nevermind, I found my answer:

001 us
002 europe - POLAND
003 asia - china/korea
005 japan
017 digital download version
