Ghosts in all games are somewhat transparent, and can also be colored to indicate how the Sim died. Living Sims are often scared when encountering a Ghost, and some can even be scared to death themselves. Ghosts in the earlier games have very little purpose, other than to haunt the lot where their grave rests, but ghosts in ''[[The Sims 3]]'' are expanded on greatly, and they are able to be interacted with and controlled by the player.
