Description

This template is used to link to userpages without triggering the notifications system on a discussion page. Normally, if you link to someone's userpage and then include your signature, the other person will get a notification telling them that they were "mentioned" on the page you edited. If you want to just link to their userpage without triggering this notification, you can either use an external link to link to their userpage, or use this template.

Usage

Basic usage:

{{no ping|username 1|username 2|...}}

By default, usernames are displayed, but this can be overridden with the |labeln= parameters.

Examples

• {{no ping|Example|Example2}} → Example and Example2
• {{no ping|Example|label1=User 1|Example2|label2=User 2}} → User 1 and User 2

Issues

Because the template uses an external link to point to the target user's userpage, it will not be displayed as a red link if the target page in question does not exist. The link will also have a lighter color compared to other internal links, and the link will not appear in what links here. The link will be recognized by navigation popups.
