The template is set up to display an accurate message if a page is semi-protected or fully protected. If the page is not protected, a small message will inform readers that the template can be removed from the article.
;Parameter
There is one parameter, <code>expiration</code>. This parameter is mandatory. Note that this parameter plugs the date into {{t|Countdown}} and gives a running countdown on the template itself, so the format of the date must be compatible with {{t|Countdown}}. Other parameters may be added in the future.
