- Uses
This template is intended for use on protected pages. It informs users that the page is semi- or fully-protected, and advises them to propose changes on the article talk page, or propose unprotection on the admins' noticeboard.

- Examples
The template is set up to display an accurate message based on the protection status of the page. If a page is semi-protected, this version of the template will display:
If a page is fully protected, this version of the template will be displayed instead:
Finally, if the template is placed on a page that isn't under protection, or if the template is placed on a page that was protected but where the protection has expired, the template will display this message:
