Strangetown has a number of residents (called Townies) whom at the beginning of the game not aware of the fact that the area that they live in is part of a TV series and that they are being filmed. Like in previous handheld console games, there are a number of characters returning from its predecessor games ''[[The Sims Bustin' Out]]'' and ''[[The Urbz: Sims in the City (handheld)|The Urbz: Sims in the City]]''. Some also did not appear in any of these games but have an interesting background.
