==[[Sims University]]==
<!-- Please edit the bottom part. -->
Unlike the Sims 2, there is only one university in University Life. Sims University appears as a new sub-world (similar to the sub-worlds in ''[[World Adventures]]''). The university buildings feature [[wikipedia:New England|New England]] inspired architecture with some European influences, resembling that of US "Ivy League" Colleges. Sims University appears to be the main university of [[SimNation]] at this time. Its animal mascot is a [[llama]] (a recurring inside joke in [[Maxis]] Games).

===University buildings===
Some of the university buildings are built inside of shells, similar to ''[[Late Night]]''<nowiki>'s</nowiki> apartment building shells, where the interior can be customized while the exterior cannot. The buildings can be added on any home worlds, but they function as rabbit holes with new interactions, thus this will not serve as a real university.

ItThey iscan also possible to customize the duration of the Sims' term in university, 1 week being the minimum and 2 weeks the maximum.<ref name="blog3" />

On the first day in ''Sims University'' at noon, a "meet-and-greet" orientation is held at the student union, where Sims can "get to know" one another and get free items at stands.
===Classes and Lectures===
On the first day in ''Sims University'' at noon, a "meet-and-greet" orientation is held at the student union, where Sims can "get to know" one another and get free items at stands. Classes start on the first Monday morning.<ref name="blog4" /> On Mondays and Wednesdays, classes are held on one of the university rabbit-hole buildings. They are seminar-styled, and vary from "Introduction to Dodging Questions" to "Methods and Practices of Tragic Clowns" (these are chosen randomly when enrolled). Players are able to choose a variety of tones in these classes, which affects the Sims' academic performances, for example, "Socialize" will decrease performance but boost relationships while "Suck Up to the Professor" will increase the Sim's grade at the cost of social interaction and stress. Sims can even ask another Sim to attend their classes in their place, however, there is a risk the professor may notice.<ref name="blog4" />

Unlike ''[[The Sims 2: University]]'', where Sims would attend classes off-lot, in University Life lecture halls are open and interactive, allowing direct control over the Sim, not unlike professions in ''[[The Sims 3: Ambitions]]''. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, lectures are held in the student union building, and Sims can interact with the professors. They can ask questions, take notes, and sleep through the lecture, all these actions affect their academic performances. Sims can also do class activities, again held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, which give Sims a chance to use academic objects to gain knowledge relating to their major.<ref name="blog4" /> Sims can schmooze with their professors to ask for extra credit.<ref name="simsvip1" /> Although Sims are allowed to skip classes for at maximum two days, more frequent occurrences result in punishment.

As lecture halls are open, and therefore interactive. This feature differs from ''[[The Sims 2: University]]'', where Sims would attend classes off-lot and could not be interacted with while at class.

While at University Sims can apply for Day Jobs, Social Group Jobs, and Dares, which they can find by looking on the Bulletin Boards located in Fraternities, Sororities, and Dormitories. They look similar to the Adventure Boards in World Adventures.<ref name="simsvip1" /> Accomplishing these tasks can earn you Simoleons and Social Group influence.

===Examinations===
Examinations will always occur on Fridays. Sims can study from textbooks, computers and smartphones, or create a study group with up to three other Sims (four total). They can also cheat on the examinations by making a study sheet and using the "Cheat" tone, but they might get caught. Sims with a high computer hacking skill can find examination answers the day before that examination on a computer.<ref name="blog5" /> There is also a final examination. Minimal studying and a poor mood will likely result in a failing grade. Failing it will make a major impact on their final grade.<ref name="blog4" />

===Leaving Universiry===
Sims can drop out of university, but this often has negative effects on their future life.<ref name="blog3" /> They can also be kicked out of a class for cheating (see above), but not out of the university,<ref name="blog3" /> although they can lose their scholarship.<ref name="simsvip1" />

Graduations occur after Sims complete their major, the times varying based on major and when the Sim began to attend university. The time needed to graduate will depend on how many classes the Sim takes.<ref name="simsvip2">''[http://simsvip.com/2013/02/14/simsvips-university-life-qa-exclusive-screens/ SimsVIP’s University Life Q&A & Exclusive Screens]'' (SimsVIP)</ref> Sims graduating will don graduation robes and mortarboards. Sims graduating from university get an extra trait slot and various career benefits, depending on major. Sims' grades will affect these advantages, therefore Sims with higher grades will get more bonuses,<ref name="blog4" /> while Sims with lower grades will never get any benefits.<ref name="simsvip1" />
