The Sims 3 Package Explorer is a lightweight user created The Sims 3 tool for Windows. Its functions are to examine, extract, replace and modify content in .package files.

It was created by 'Okeanos' on June 12, 2009.

This tool only takes up 0.2 Mb on the HDD and requires .NET framework 3.5 to function.[1]

Recent changes

The current version is 1.1.0

  • Added Previews functionality.
  • Preview Support for Hex, Images, Xml.
  • Store/Restore of window position and size.

Usage

  • To view the contents of a package, find the 'thumbnail (PNG)' in the 'type' field. 'Name' may reveal the item.
