#Guys, aren't you all forgetting something? NEITHER of these Sims are in the Political Career track. Although Gunther Goth founded the town, he is in the Business Career and always was. Nick only bought some shops and is NOT in Politics and again, is in the Business Career track. Why is the election between these two only? They're not even in freaking Politics guys!
