On May 6, 2013, it was confirmed that the title of this expansion pack is ''Into the Future''. Some of the features as described on the survey were removed, as Sims are only able to travel to the future. The Old West time period is realized to be part of ''[[The Sims 3: Movie Stuff]]'' theme.

In the end, the Time-Travel theme was selected to be the last expansion pack of ''The Sims 3''. It was unknown whether the result was purely based on the survey or not, or whether EA has eventually scrapped the other three ideas.
