The Sims 4 CAS Demo announced!

The no toddler & no pool debacle has left many Simmers complaining and upset at EA. On July 7, 2014, Rachel Franklin, the executive producer of The Sims 4, has released a blog, What's Out and What's In, in response of the angered Simmers, as well as "explanation"[1] of why toddlers and pools have been eliminated:

  1. Even if they called it explanation, they barely mentioned toddlers or pools, let alone actually telling the real reason.
tl;dr

So, rather than include toddlers, we chose to go deeper on the features that make Sims come alive: meaningful and often amusing emotions; more believable motion and interactions; more tools in Create A Sim, and more realistic (and sometimes weird!) Sim behavior.

Instead of pools, we chose to develop key new features in Build Mode: direct manipulation, building a house room-by-room and being able to exchange your custom rooms easily, to make the immediate environment even more relatable and interactive for your Sim.

If you didn't make it to read the whole news blog, the second thing to note is that EA has officially announced The Sims 4 CAS Demo! The demo is going to be available for free, and the Sims can be shared in the Gallery.

I don't know about you, but I really don't think this could make up for the loss of toddlers, pools, story progression, and whatever restrictions they've made to the game. Also, I don't really trust them completely. Who knows if the demo would have time limit or any other catch. But still, it's a demo. Who's ready to shape their Sims w/o sliders?

Last thing to note is that EA mentioned that in two weeks, they will release a 15-minute-long of "actual" gameplay footage with complete UI. Again, what's the catch? Pretty sure if this gameplay footage isn't a livestream, it'll be 120% scripted. Who knows?
