At the start of the game, she is living with her son to help him raise his toddler, Sam. It is possible she is of Japanese descent. It is probable that Yumi adopted Leighton Sekemoto because he has no known father and they don't share any similarities excluding the family oriented trait. At the start of the game she is unemployed.

Yumi has the same Lifetime Wish as her son. If the player edits her in create a sim and changes her to an adult, player will find out that she used to have brown hair.
