Unlike previous games in ''The Sims'' series, previous cases of neglecting babies or toddlers will not be taken against the adopting household.
Although in ''The Sims 4, ''when any Teen, Young Adult, Adult, or Elder dies in a household for any reason, if that Sim is the only Sim that is not a Baby, Toddler, or Child in the household, and there are younger Sims in the same household, the occasional death process will commence and a message saying that there are no more older Sims to take care of the children and social services will take it from here pops up, giving the player the choice to Save and Go To Manage Worlds or Exit to Main Menu.
NOTE: On-screen social services does not exist in ''The Sims 4, ''as the game pauses when the message pops up.
It is not confirmed that if this happens, then the Babies, Toddlers, or Children in that household will be put up for adoption.
