Awning is an architectural feature from build mode, introduced first in The Sims 2: Open for Business. With The Sims 2: Apartment Life, more had been added to the game. The cost of these range from §35 to §50 simoleons.
Awning can be built, on flat ground or by a wall, by clicking and dragging in any desirable size after selecting the chosen awning. Existing awning can be expanded by selecting the respective variation and repeating the click-drag step. Different awnings must be at least one tile away from each other to be build next to each other. To remove a single section tile of awning, a sledgehammer tool can be used. Clicking and dragging while holding the ^ Ctrl after picking the awning allows for a selection of the awning to be removed.
