The Portable Fire Pit generates six chairs around it if none are placed; but only generates as needed. For example, a Sim goes to roast a marshmallow. As soon as the action is queued up, a cheap-looking chair fades in by the fire pit. If multiple Sims go, then others will fade in -- until then, the Sim will be sitting alone in a lonely chair by the pit.
