The Cool Shades is an aspiration reward object in The Sims 2.

Effects[edit | edit source]

These oversized glasses are quite useful when Sims want to improve their relationships with other Sims rapidly, especially if they're looking for love.

Using the Cool Shades[edit | edit source]

When a Sim puts on a pair of Cool Shades, he or she will briefly strike a "cool" pose. If the first social interaction he or she does with another Sim is successful, it will have an amplified effect. Otherwise, there is a chance that the first social interaction will fail, in which case it will have an amplified negative effect. Unlike other aspiration rewards, usage of the Cool Shades does not depend on the Sim's aspiration meter.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The glasses give off a green glowing light when used, and will disappear when the interaction is completed.
  • There are only five pairs of shades. Players can reset the number of shades available by enabling the testing cheats, shift+clicking on the stand, selecting "Force Error", and then resetting the object.
  • There's a mod at ModTheSims for normal-sized Cool Shades.
