Cosmetology is a talent badge from Open for Business. With the Ugh-No-More Makeover Chair, a Sim can give make overs to Sims. A Sim's Cosmetology level determines how likely they are to do a successful Makeover. Also, as a Sim's badge level increases, the animations will change to reflect the Sim's increasing skill. High cleaning skills help gain cosmetology badges.

Positive effect

A successful makeover opens the "Change Appearance" options screen. Here the player can change the appearance of the Sim who had the makeover. The customer will be pleased and if it was not offered for free, pay you.

Negative effect

An unsuccessful makeover displeases the customer and their appearance is changed, usually a weird haircut or full face makeup. (For selectable Sims, this can be undone by using the Change Appearance option on a mirror.) The Sim who did the makeover still gets paid, unless it was a free makeover.
