Create a Pet is the section of Create a Sim where the player creates pets in The Sims 2: Pets. Unlike The Sims: Unleashed where the player is only able to buy a pet and choose from a few breeds, The Sims 2: Pets allows the player to create their own from preset breeds or create a completely new one.
The Sims 2
In The Sims 2, the Create-A-Pet feature is part of the CAS. An adult or elder dog or cat can be added to the family. There are many options to customize the appearance of a pet as well as predefined breeds. A pet's personality and names can then be chosen. The player can also unlock many new coats and collars through in-game experiences.
There are 6 steps to create a pet:
- Step 1: Name, Gender, Size and Age
- Step 2: Choose a Breed
- Step 3: Coat Colors and Markings
- Step 4: Archetype and Modifiers
- Step 5: Collars
- Step 6: Personality
Step 1: Name, Gender, Size and Age
- Name: Type in the Pet's name.
- Gender: Choose either Male or Female.
- Age: Choose either Adult or Elder.
- Size: Avaiable only for Dogs. Choose either small or large dog.
- You can also write a Pet Biography.
Step 2: Choose a Breed
- Choose one breed. There's about 30 breeds. You can save your breed if you want.
Step 3: Coat Colors and Markings

The Sims 3
Similar to The Sims 2: Pets, kittens/puppies and foals cannot be made in Create a Pet in The Sims 3: Pets. Cats and Dogs, along with Horses, can be created in the Create a Pet. There are many premade breeds for each species, as well as the coatings.[citation needed]
