Crystal balls are magical objects in The Sims: Livin' Large, The Sims 3 Store and The Sims 4: Paranormal Stuff that cryptically tell the future.

The Madame Blahbatfry Crystal Ball allows the player a chance at changing a Sim's personality. If the player can figure out the message and direct the Sim to accomplish the task in the next 24 hours, the Sim will gain a point on that particular personality scale. If the task fails, though, the Sim will lose one point.

The Soothsayer's Crystal Ball can be purchased from The Sims 3 Store.[1] Teens through elders can use it to tell either their own or another Sim's fortune.
Sims can also tell bogus fortunes to others. Evil, grumpy and mean Sims get a fun boost from telling bogus fortunes. If a Sim is caught lying, their relationship with the other Sim will decrease.

The Lady Ravendancer's Crystal ball is introduced in The Sims 4: Paranormal Stuff. In this iteration of the series, crystal balls are separate objects that can be placed on any table, as well as seance tables. If a crystal ball is placed on a seance table and the table is in use, the crystal ball lights up and will display animated ghost faces occasionally. This is possibly a reference to Madame Leota from the Disney attraction The Haunted Mansion. However they do not tell fortunes or have any other additional gameplay and mostly act as decorations.
The name "Lady Ravendancer's Crystal Ball" references the same Lady Ravendancer Goth who owns a spell book.
