In The Sims 3, children and teenagers have a curfew. A child's curfew is 10:00 pm and a teen's is 11:00 pm. Teens will be brought home by police if they break their curfew. If children break their curfew they will not be brought home

by the police, but instead will automatically go home, or to the nearest adult family member. This action cannot be canceled for reasons beyond control and can really be irritating at times. There is a possibility that there are mods that can fix this so it can be an option for curfews. When a teenager is out during curfew, it gives the protaining moodlet until a police officer catches the Sim or the teen goes home. When he is caught, he cannot run away from the officer and the Sim gets a negative moodlet and a scolding from an adult on the home lot. To prevent this, make sure if the Sim has an adult family member when visiting a community lot with the "go here with..." action and try not to stray away from lots where it is more difficult for the adult to follow. This is not useful when a Sim is trying to gain collectables or is fishing away from home. It is helpful though to remind your teen Sims that they need to go home and not run off into the streets and get lost, making the game have more realism.
