A door that is place last outside is chosen as the front door and those that are at the lowest floor. This prone to be troublesome and inconvient for lots that have garage doors. In ''The Sims 3'' and later games, doors on residential lots can be selected by the player to act as front ones. Visitors, delivery, service and Sims from the [[welcome wagon|welcoming wagon]] will gather around waiting by after one of whom ring the doorbell of the front door.
