The Sim using the Energizer pulls a lever on the right-hand side of the device, then steps into an old washtub on the left-hand side. If the use is successful, the Sim will be surrounded by a bright glow as his or her [[motives]] are boosted. However, failure will drain the Sim's motives, though it will not kill him or her. If many of the Sim's motives are very low, the Energizer will not be able to completely replenish all of them, though all motives will get a substantial boost.
 
Using the Energizer takes 30 Sim minutes. If the Sim was in gold aspiration when stepping into the Energizer, it doesn't matter if he or she drops into green while it's running. However, if the Sim's aspiration level drops from gold to green between the time the lever is pulled and the time he or she steps into the Energizer, it may fail.
