Bessie and Lilian retired and moved to Appaloosa Plains with Jedidiah Cash and Marshall Padilla, and the couples were soon married. They travelled to France and at 4:54pm on the day they returned, Bessie died while talking to a friend on the phone. She was 82, and the next day she was laid to rest at Newton Cemetery. |

Bessie is still an actress, and has been for 61 years. She lives in the present Clavell residence, ''Miramontes'', in Sunset Valley, with her sister Lilian, their half-brother Martin, his wife Rachel and their children Martin, Carl, Rosa and Bertha. |
