Duncan LeMontague is a male, young adult Vampire living in the Fanon neighborhood, Apocalypse Isle. Created by Pidgeoraptor7, Duncan is descended from generations of pureblooded vampires. He is five days younger than his girlfriend, the fairy Gwyneth Ambrose. The youngest member in the household, Duncan's best friends are Quinlan Priestley and Ashton Wulfgang, a human and werewolf respectively. Unless changed to either a fairy or vampire, Quinlan and Ashton will die much before Duncan does.
Toddlerhood[edit | edit source]
Duncan was born and raised in Moonlight Falls. Mostly unknown, Duncan was childhood friends with his future roommates, Quinlan and Ashton. He learned all of his toddler skills from his mother, as his father was away working. As a toddler, he had the traits Genius and Loner.
Childhood[edit | edit source]
As a child, Duncan gained a sincere love of cooking, as well as the Bookworm trait. Though still too young to be trusted around the stove, he watched his mother experiment with all kinds of Ingredients. Just as Ashton had his obsessions with exploring, and Quinlan liked everything Supernatural, Duncan's passion was books.
When sampling some of her cooking, Duncan's mother grew nauseous due to being a vampire. In secrecy, she contacted the local science facility, and purchased some Vamprocillin-D. Curing herself so that she could finally taste food, her husband grew very angry, and they got a divorce. Duncan's mother moved away to Champs Les Sims to refine her cooking skill.
Teenage Years[edit | edit source]
Duncan, when aging up into a teenager, gained the Natural Cook trait. Scared that Duncan would follow his mother to Champs Les Sims, Duncan's father removed all means of cooking from the house. Duncan overcame this struggle by getting a part time job at the local Bistro, but this ended abruptly when his father grounded him for doing so in secrecy. Angered, Duncan began sneaking out past curfew to rendevouz at Ashton's and Quinlan's secret hideout, where they would then drive Duncan to the Bistro at which he worked the night shift.
Duncan's father caught him there once, and they quarreled. Duncan lost the fight, and had a black eye to prove it. He eventually moved out and in with the Priestley's, and his father later moved away to Shang Simla in the hopes of securing an elusive Martial Arts directorship.
Young Adulthood[edit | edit source]
Duncan gained the Mooch trait when aging up. Duncan, when visiting the beach to go fishing, met and befriended Gwendolyn and Gwyneth Ambrose, two fairies. The attractive Gwyneth caught his eye, and in no time they were dating. After sharing their first kiss, Gwyneth tried to persuade Duncan to revoke his vampire powers and join her as a fairy. He refused, but the thought still nags him.
While with Gwyneth and Gwendolyn, Duncan manages to catch the elusive Death Fish, and having mastered the cooking skill, Gwyneth gives him a Life Fruit, the final ingredient in making Ambrosia. After making the divine cuisine, Quinlan notices it, and is offered by Duncan if he wants to have it. Quinlan accepts, and is turned into a human.
While reading the newspaper, Ashton (who has moved in with Quinlan and Duncan) notices an ad promoting Apocalypse Isle, requiring repopulation after a recent incident. Duncan, Quinlan, Ashton, Gwendolyn, and Gwyneth pack their bags, but lack the money. The Cooke sisters, Cecil and Selene, friends of Ashton's, offer the money, but only if they are brought along to Apocalypse Isle. Though unwilling at first, the three boys cave in, and allow the sisters to accompany them.
Onomatology[edit | edit source]
- Duncan: A Scottish or Gaelic name derived from "Donnchadh", meaning dark warrior or brown fighter. This may be a reference to Duncan's life state, and that vampires are usually perceived dark.
- LeMontague: A pun on Montague, the last name of the titular character Romeo in Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.
