Monday 1st February[edit | edit source]

So it's true. I am a loser. I always assumed I was a loser, but this camping trip has proven it. Who goes camping in winter, you ask? My school does because my school forced me to go camping in winter. I'm on the bus and I have to sit next to Justin Greggs, the weirdest kid in the whole of Sunset Valley. And guess who sits right behind me? Lisa Bunch. Lisa is a mean girl in lip gloss and skinny jeans. She gossips about the girls, she manipulates boys into fulfilling her every need, and she has an army of mean girls.

I'm glad I'm not the target this year. Lisa decided the new girl should be the target. Vicky Burns, the new girl, never seems to speak to anybody. It still makes me sick that Lisa is choosing targets each year. And I saw the list of tents. I have to share a tent with Lisa, Candy, and Georgia. Yup, that's right. I got assigned a tent with the 3 mean girls of the school. They call themselves the hot girls, I call them the plastics.

I wish I could sit with Parker Langerak, the HOTTEST guy to attend Community School of the Gifted. He has a reputation for being a player, and that attracts all the girls, as he gives good kisses. But I have no chance with him, as I'm a dork and he dates Lisa.

"So, Sarah, do you wanna hang out?" Justin asked me.

"For the last time, my name is Sasha!" I yelled back at him.

"No yelling on the bus!" the bus driver shouted at me.

The staff here are so annoying. They yell at me for everything, just because I'm not as rich as Holly Alto, the richest girl to attend school. I'm pretty sure she had normal grades, but then her grades skyrocketed to A+ because her father bribed the principal. The principal doesn't even care about this school, he cares about the money. He should be arrested for fraud.

The bus finally arrived at Riverview Campsite, the perfect place for camping. Our principal had booked a week camping, and during that week was my cousin's birthday party. My cousin's parties were amazing, but tonight was the big party.

I got off the bus and went to the back to collect my suitcase. As I walked down the stairs of the bus, Lisa pushed me down. I landed in DOG MUCK! Why do I have to be such a loser? Worst of all, my crush saw it all. Mega embarrassing.

"Um, Lisa, that wasn't very kind of you," Parker said shyly in front of Lisa. He helped me up. Oh boy, do I love that guy. But now I smell weird, even though we have to run around in the muddy fields of Riverview, probably all of them covered in dog muck. Yuck.

I'm writing this now because not much happens on the first night. I'm here for 7 days, and those days are the worst days of my life.

Tuesday 2nd February[edit | edit source]

If camping in WINTER and muddy fields wasn't bad enough, then we have to write to our parents.

In any normal case, this would be accepted. But my mother is like, the MOST EMBARRASSING person in the world (aside from myself).

I wish I had cool parents like Holly Alto's parents (her dad is a business officer and her mom is a council member) and not a mom who works at a rundown diner. That place is just so creepy it gives me the shivers.

Anyway, the worst part is another school is on our camping trip. The one and only, Smuggsworth Prep School.

Most of us would give up our SMARTPHONES for a chance to get called into an exam there. But the problem is, the students there are stuck-up JERKS. Which is why I would prefer staying in a boring town with nothing to do (aka Sunset Valley). I think Lisa would LOVE it there because everyone is just like her.

We had a very long walk to an abandoned burial site. The teachers found it interesting, but I was so bored. We have to write a report on an area of Riverview. WHY??? This town honestly smells so bad I don't get it.

I saw Vicky sit alone, so I went over to her to comfort her. I wish I could be her friend, but she was shy, and Lisa threatened to tease anybody who talks to her.

Speaking of Lisa, that girl is ridiculous. She is wearing an expensive diamond dress in a place filled with muddy fields, sprinkled with horse muck. She's acting so sweet all of a sudden, she isn't gossiping.

My friends gave me glares as I walked over to Vicky, but I didn't mind. My friends were gossip girls too, and I hated that. I needed a new friend for a change.

Candy was busy writing about the juice bar, while I wrote a criticism on the town. I know I'll get bad grades from this, but I can't help it. I hate this place so much.

Then I realised. Lisa was gossiping. She just didn't look like she was, but I knew she was. What a nasty girl.
