Jane was born and raised in Moonlight Falls, in the [[Fanon:Hale Manor|Hale Manor]]. Once Jane turned into a young adult, long after her older brother, she moved out of the Hale Manor into a house of her own, where she still lives.

After her brother James died an untimely death, she took over the care of his two children, [[Fanon:Derek Hale|Derek Hale]], and [[Fanon:Edward Hale|Edward Hale]]. After her brother's death, she was briefly married to [[Param Singh]] and was known for a short while was '''Jane Singh''' however, upon divorce, she went back to '''Hale'''. During their marriage, they had one son, Derek Singh.
After her divorce, she had a brief relationship with [[Jack Skipper]] and had a son, Michael Hale. After Jack made it clear to her he wanted nothing to do with the baby, she disowned him and gave the baby her maiden name.
After Michael became a teenager, Jane married [[Jules MacDuff]] and they had twins. A girl, Caroline MacDuff Hale, and a boy, Nicholas Hale MacDuff.
Jane is still alive and well due to her werewolf abilities giving her a long life. She is a great-grandmother to 2 children and younger than her daughter-in-law.
