== Political Career, Third Marriage and Divorce ==

Jessica decided to enter the political field after her ex-husband, Thatcher Maylenderton, became the de facto Leader pfof the town due to Catarina Vanderburg's illness. She initially wanted to be his political rival and take the position of Leader for herself. Jessica ran for Governor of Hidden Springs, and narrowly beat her rial, [[Astrid Pertridge]]. However, Jessica and Thatcher worked together much better than either of them expected and he asked her to be his running mate for the emergency election following Catarina's death. The pair won the election by a large margin and Jessica started developing feelings for Thatcher once more. A brief affair followed, which ended after a few months when Thatcher's wife, Ophera, became Jessica's secretary. Jessica and Ophera became friendly acquaintances, but Ophera never liked that her husband and his ex-wife were spending so much time together. Jessica then began a relationship with [[Nicholas Riverhawk]], her first serious relationship since her husband died. The two got married after a six month courtship, but were divorced by their second anniversary.

Jessica's memoir revealed that she and Thatcher reignited their affair shortly after she got married to Nicholas. After she became pregnant with Thatcher's child, she considered stepping down from her position of Vice President. She untimently decided against the idea, but hid her pregnancy from Thatcher and the general public. Immediately after the birth of her child (who she gave up for adoption), Jessica told Nicholas the truth and he left her. The divorce settlement was pretty much the exact same as the settlement Jessica received when she divorced Thatcher (the exiting spouse gets all the household money, and while the staying souse gets to keep the house and doesn't need to pay alimony). She made Nicholas sign an agreement in which he was forbidden to talk about the marriage or divorce to reporters, or else be hit with fines and jail time. The divorce left Jessica completely broke, although she quickly recovered.
