Ray Barton was the only son of Carla Barton, and he didn't know his father's name. He is currently dating Valerie Bradshaw, and even though he was born in Sunset Valley, he counts himself as a citizen of Twinbrook. With the trademark "puff" hairstyle, he has a reputation for not attending school, and some say he is the king of the ranked chess matches.

Biography

Toddlerhood

Ray was born in Sacred Spleen Memorial Hospital, the only hospital in Sunset Valley. His mother was only a teen at that time, and the father was absent as well. Carla refused to answer the doctors' questions and left soon after Ray's birth.

Rumours began spreading around town, though, and it wasn't long before she was defamed and wherever she went, people would try to find the chance to shame her. Unable to take the taunts anymore, Carla moved away to Twinbrook with her son upon graduation.

He was a toddler by then, and he had lovely black hair and blue eyes, like his father. Carla took up a job in journalism, since writing was her passion, but in order to avoid paying $70 every day for Ray's babysitter, she stayed in the park and got food from the gym.

Ray, meanwhile, had lots of fun with his imaginary friend, Kashti. He took delight in playing with the pegbox, which taught the logic skill, and also tried out the xylophone.

Childhood

He soon aged up to a child, and at first, attended school every day just like a normal kid. He wasn't exactly the most popular kid in the school, and was often an easy target for bullies with his hairstyle and blue eyes.

After returning from school one evening, he realized that a girl and her uncle had moved into town, and the two turned out to be none other than Tom and Valerie Bradshaw. Valerie came over to his house a while later, and revealed that Tom didn't like her very much, and the two were only staying together after her parents' demise in an accident where their whole house caught on fire.

The two talked for hours, and when Tom finally came looking for her, he didn't miss the chance to make a mockery of Ray. Concerned about his new friend, he finally convinced Carla to let Valerie stay with them.

The two had lots of fun and soon became best friends. Ray didn't feel like going to school, and talked his best friend into staying back home with him. Carla didn't suspect anything - she left an hour before the school bus came.

They headed to the beach, and before the duo knew it, it became a habit. Every day, they left just after Carla did and skipped school. Ray's "A" became a "C", and Valerie's "B" swiftly dropped to an "F". The two explored every place possible, the abandoned warehouses and the railway tracks.
