Music Notes Edit
- This is the last episode to have the Dominic Glynn Theme Music for the Ending Credits. This would be replaced by the Blues Saraceno music in later episodes.
- Christophe Back remains uncredited for his musical contributions. However, he would finally be credited for his next contribution to "Outbreak".
Title Edit
- To sabotage is to deliberately destroy, damage, or obstruct something. This refers to the Doctor "sabotaging" the Cybermen's turrets and spaceship, and also referring to the Cybermen "sabotaging" the TARDIS to crash.
- From August 2012 to July 2013, this episode was only given the title of "Part Four". It wasn't until the planning stage of the Uncut versions that it was given the title of "Sabotage" as so to remain consistent with the remaining serials of the series.
Production Notes Edit
- Unlike "Divided" and "Lost", this one has no recap. The episode begins with a brief recap, than a cold opening and just follows with the events afterwards.
- This episode is the first to contain Computer Generated Imagery. The CG-1 was the exterior of the TARDIS, and the explosion of the Cybermens ship.
- This version of the Opening Sequence is completely different to the previous opening sequence seen from "Missive" to "Missive". It now has a new theme song and now contains new clips from The Destruction of the TARDIS and The Labyrinth of Time.
- The voices of the Cybermen were achieved by using Sound Clips from the Classic Series, episode such as The Tomb of the Cybermen, The Moonbase and The Wheel in Space were used.
Continuity Edit
- Although wasn't originally intended to be such, The Sonic Screwdriver makes its first appearance when used by the Doctor, while being possessed by the Cybermen. With the sound effect used during the New Series heard. The sonic screwdriver would later be heard being used in "Astray", "Nemesis" and "Siege".
- This is the only episode to actually show the sonic screwdriver, in all future uses, it is only heard. However, in a deleted scene from "Duel", the Doctor can be seen holding the Sonic Screwdriver.
- The Cybermen ship exterior seen in the ending, resembles closely to the Cybermen spaceship seen in Revenge of the Cybermen.
- The Cybermens energy lasers have changed from red lasers, to blue lightening like lasers. The lightening is reminist of the lasers the Cybermen use in The Moonbase, The Tomb of the Cybermen and The Wheel in Space.
- The Cloiser Bell can be heard once again when the TARDIS is crashing. It was last heard in "Divided".
Deleted Scenes Edit
Four scenes in the original edit, were Deleted upon uploading.
- At the beginning when the cybermen sees the Doctor and Katarina, there was a shot of what the cybermen was seeing, from its proceptive.
- Also at the beginning, when the Doctor and Katarina run away from the cybermen. There was a scene that had many more shots of them running to where they were running to.
- Before the exterior shot of the interior console room, There was originally a montage sort of scene that featured various amounts of Cybermen roaming the places of the TARDIS, to show that the Cyberman had taken the TARDIS, and had entire army in it.
- Towards the end. When the cybermen starts shooting it laser at the Force Shield, there was a shot of what the cybermen was seeing, from it procepective. A brief second of this scene was featured in the trailer for The Destruction of the TARDIS.
Mistakes Edit
- Blues Saraceno composed the music for the Opening Sequence. However he is uncredited for this, and Dominic Gynn is still credited as the Composer of the Theme Music.
