VanPyre the Vampire, Part 1 Edit

Then Nisha lunged for my neck, and I almost screamed. I closed my eyes and waited.

But nothing happened.

Nisha didn't bite me. She just whispered something in my ear: "Don't worry, Pierce. I won't hurt you." And then as soon as she was there, she wasn't. In the time it took me to blink, the vampire woman was gone. Even just looking at her, I could tell she wasn't like the others. For starters, none of the vampires I had seen had blond hair like she did. And those eyes: they were those of a vampire, but at the same time they weren't. She wasn't like them.

Cold water droplets shook me from my thoughts. I had no idea how long I had been standing there, so I went home, still replaying Nisha in my head. I put my hand in my pocket, and lo and behold, I found a strip of paper. It read:

I'll explain everything later. Call me. -Nisha S.

But I didn't have her number! I opened up my cell, and was surprised to see my contact list had grown. Now, I had both Brigit's and Nisha's numbers. Nisha's was on speed dial.

And yet another surprise awaited me on the front step of my apartment. A shape sat on the doorstep. I cautiously approached it. I thought it was Nisha Slayer, there to surprise me, but instead it was Brigit.

"Hey, Brigit," I said.

She looked up at me, but didn't say a word. She didn't have too. I could see it in her grey eyes: she was hungry. I didn't want her dying on me here, not after we just met... But I didn't want to become a vampire either, sacrificing my normal life for hers. But I reluctantly held out my arm.

"Hungry?" I asked. My voice was laced with fear.

Her eyes glowed brighter, and she licked her lips. But she caught herself.

"No, Pierce," she said, obviously straining against her need for plasma. "I... I can't do it. Not now..." and then she trailed off, and looked away.

I didn't back off. Instead, I composed myself, and reached my arm even farther. "I insist. Please Brigit, I don't want you to die. Not now." And before I knew what hit me, she pushed my arm away, and buried her fangs in my neck. It was so sharp it was almost sweet, and I thought I would pass out. As consciousness began to slip away from me, she pulled away, and mouthed: Thank you.

Then, she leaned closer, and kissed me.
