Flamingos, like llamas, are a recurring motif in The Sims series. In the first three games, plastic lawn flamingos appear as cheap outdoor decorations. By casting the Enchant spell on a pink flamingo, the FlaminGoGo Dancer NPC can be summoned[TS:MM]. Neon flamingos appear in The Sims, The Sims 2 and The Sims 3 Store. In The Sims, they appear as neon flamingo wall lamps that were originally used to promote the defunct SimCity Flamingos hockey team. In The Sims 2, the neon flamingo appears as a decorative wall hanging. In The Sims 3 the flamingo again appears as a lawn decoration, coming in a variety of colors. Additionally, the Neon Flamingo lamp can be downloaded for free from The Sims 3 Store in the "The Sims Strike Back" set.
Sims often kick over a flamingo, and it will sometimes get stolen.
Are you bothered by nuisance tropical flamingos soiling your front yard? Or does your lot just need some decoration? Either way you can't go wrong with a pink flamingo decoy. The high gloss finish and metal legs act as a deterrent to real flamingos, while simultaneously advertising the light-hearted and fun-loving spirit of the home owner.
While neon is back, the SimCity Flamingos hockey franchise is never coming back. Hundreds of these pink neon signs appeared around the city in a vain attempt to increase sagging attendance and ticket sales. However, some prudent citizens "saw the light" and saved the signs after the team went belly-up. Highly collectible, the Flamingos sign is now proudly displayed in many clubs, frat houses and homes.

Nothing says "Tacky Miami Tourist Trap" like your Sim's very own neon flamingo! For best results, combine with pastel suits, 80's music, and those little cocktail umbrellas for your Sim's drinks. (Note: Not for kicking.)
If the base game or University is installed, the object was located in the "Decorative - Wall Hangings" section of buy mode. However, from Nightlife to FreeTime, it was completely hidden from the buy mode catalog, and a mod was required to obtain the object. The FreeTime patch restored the object and moved it to the "Lighting" section of buy mode.
In the Russian version of the game, the Neon Flamingo flavour text refers to a pop song Pink Flamingo by Russian singer Alyona Sviridova.
