XLR8R & XLR8R2 Food Processor
Game The Sims, The Sims 2
Buyable Buy mode
Price §220
Type Appliance
Size 1x1 counter

A food processor is a small appliance found in The Sims, The Sims 2, and The Sims 3. In the former two games, it costs §220, and will speed preparation and add hunger value to food when used.

The Sims

In The Sims, it's known as the XLR8R Food Processor, and is considered to be the best food preparation surface. It is always used for single and group meals, unless the Sim preparing the meal cannot get to it.

Part of the Intelli-kitchen total food prep system, the XLR8R accelerates food delivery time...AND taste. The low-cost, high-precision pulse-echo radar blades enable invariable food chunk tolerances by combining digital logic with microwave techniques. Sealed housing. Quick lock lid. Finger Shield. Idi-Pruuf control panel.

The Sims 2

In The Sims 2, it's been upgraded to the XLR8R2. FreeTime added the Frugal Fruitlover's Friend, which appears similar to the XLR8R2, but sells for less (§180 instead of §220). Kitchen & Bath Interior Design Stuff added the Carrot Chopper Deluxe, which is slightly more expensive (§260 instead of §220).

A food processor will be used whenever food needs to be chopped, but will not be used at other times. There are food preparation surfaces that are slightly better than a food processor, but food processors still have advantages. They speed preparation of food that needs to be chopped, especially for Sims with lower Cooking skill. Using a food processor keeps the counter it sits on clean, even when used by a sloppy Sim. Also, it appears that food processors don't need to be cleaned.

Even if you can't manage crackers and cheese, the XLR8R2 Food Processor gives your kitchen some class. It's got chrome, interchangeable blades, finger-inlay, dance-digit, speed-sensitive buttons, and the LOOK that says, "Back off! I'm Expensive!" Guaranteed to improve your dining pleasure.

Blazing blades blink blithely, blasting blushing blackberry blobs. Frigid fruit fragments frolic freely. Blunt bland blocks blow blustering blizzards, frail frozen freight frequently fracturing from frantic friction. Fragrant frosty fray friskily frothing, blissful blue blur blankets blender.

Ingredient Eviscerator 235X
Game The Sims 3
Buyable Buy mode
Price §280
Type Skill, Needs
Size 1x1

In The Sims 3, the food processor is called the Ingredient Eviscerator 235X, and it costs §280. It can be used to make baby food out of leftovers. Sims can get one free through the Culinary career.

However, unlike in The Sims 2, the counter on which the food processor is placed needs to be cleaned after several uses of the food processor. The player does not need to use Buy mode to move the food processor when the countertop needs cleaning; the Sim will make it temporarily disappear while cleaning the countertop.
