Forum:A question about SimPE

I have a question about using SimPE for the Sims 2. I made a Sim family using custom eyes, but, in an effort to organize my download folder, I deleted all of the mods and am slowly re-installing them. In the meantime I can't remember the particular mod I used and it left the entire family with no eyes, just empty eye sockets. When I tried to change the genetics for the sims by inserting the datastring for brown eyes, it did nothing. Am I supposed to do something else to make it change the eyes in game, or does changing the genetics in SimPE only mean that they have different DNA to pass on to their children? Or does changing the DNA do nothing at all? BuckyKattLove 15:30, October 28, 2011 (UTC)

- hi bucky, based on my experience changing DNA is not working because DNA only passed to the children dot the existing sim. i have 2 option for you:
- first option try to use Dr Vu's Automated Cosmetic Surgeon to enter the CAS and edit your sim face. you need university expansion pack to do this.
- second option is by replacing the sim Facial Structure via SimPE. and this is need some time because more complex... Wir.wiryawan 15:52, October 28, 2011 (UTC)

I had seen the Sim Surgery page, but I didn't realize its purpose. I also didn't realize I could change eye color with the in-game item as I've never tried it. Thank you! I have a second question, if I try to give a normal-skinned sim alien eyes using SimPE or another mod, would this crash the game? Or is an alien-eyed, normal-skinned sim not even possible? EDIT: Oh OK, I just try the Sim Surgery then. Thank you.BuckyKattLove 16:20, October 28, 2011 (UTC)
