Adoption Man Service Glitch

Hi, I have been playing the Sims 3 for a while now. The other day I decide I wanted to adopt a child. The man arrived and I chose what kind of child I wanted. Then the man got out of his car and NEVER gave me the child. I tried logging out then logging back in again but nothing happened. Now the guy just runs around my house and his car is still parked in front of my house. PLEASE help. I worked REALLY hard on the house and family I have now and I REALLY don't want to start from scratch again. It sucks starting from square one on the sims. I know this doesn't deal with your issue directly but have you tried deleting your cache files under "Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3"? Deleting the "<term>Cache.package" files is a general recommended fix that has resolved a few issues for players and it may help in your situation. The files will regenerate upon startup anyway so as long as you don't wipe out anything else, you don't need to worry. Lost Labyrinth • (c) • (b) 23:36, April 11, 2014 (UTC)
