Hi, I own all EPs and had a toddler who maxed his xylophone skill to level 3. After he aged up to child I wanted him to play the guitar, but there is simply no option when I click on it (he can only gift it). Children are supposed to be able to gain 3 skill points in guitar with Generations? I don't have any mods installed. I'd appreciate your help. Timonix (talk) 21:35, July 9, 2013 (UTC)

I think the problem is that children are too young to play the guitar. I think that, when your Sim ages to a teenager, he will then be able to play the guitar and get the 3 skill points. ~ Waikikamukow (Anyone wanna chat?) 00:59, July 10, 2013 (UTC)
I thought so too, but in this article, under Generations it says: Child Guitar-

Only children can get this skill, This skill goes up to level 3, and when the child ages into a teen, they will start their Guitar skill at the same level as the skill level they acquired.

and also in Trivia: The xylophone and all child music skills are counted separately. For example, a Sim who maximizes the xylophone and all child music skills, will start at level 6 on guitar, bass, piano, and drum when he or she becomes a teen. -So I was wondering if anyone did get those 3 Child guitar points and how? The only way children will learn Child Instrument skills is by attending the art boarding school. Other than that, you can't make children play instruments. Nikel Talk Vote! 02:34, July 17, 2013 (UTC)
