I need some help! I've contacted Origin but they were useless, so basically I installed Sims 2 from disk about a week ago and been playing it with no issues. I purchased Best of Business from Origin and installed it, but when I click on BOB in the Origin game download manager it tells me Sims 2 is not installed or installed incorrectly. So I reinstalled etc to see if that would work - no luck. I can open each expansion pack on it's own (the long way, not through autoplay - which also doesn't work), but not together, for example when I click on Kitchen & Baths, it runs fine but wipes out the Business expansion and vice versa. I've cleared the cache, closed any other processes. But nothing works :( Can someone help me? I just want to run the whole lot in one game!

An expansion pack from Origin will only work if you have The Sims 2 Double Deluxe from Origin installed. If you installed from physical media then you'll have to buy the physical versions of any expansions too. Unfortunately, EA won't be able to refund you for the Origin copy unless the actual software is faulty and their refunds policy doesn't cover digital installs being incompatible with digital installs. Hope this helps! Lost Labyrinth (c)(b) 11:26, July 24, 2012 (UTC)
I suspected that, but Origin wouldn;t confirm it (probably trying to avoid me asking for a refund...). Thank you so much for your help :)

Speaking from personal experience, I believe the Double Deluxe requirement probably is correct, as I have that installed on my machine and was able to install other Origin TS2 EPs. However, I was also able to mix-and-match between digital and physical copies; I own some of the earlier EPs (OFB, Pets, and Seasons) on physical copy, and I was able to install those alongside the digital downloads for the rest without any issues. -- LiR speak ~ read 15:34, July 24, 2012 (UTC)
All I can assume is that it's a technical limitation that says a digital EP can only work with the digital base game or something. Peaches, have you tried redownloading the EP? Lost Labyrinth (c)(b) 18:18, July 24, 2012 (UTC)
