Okay so as you all know, we deliver a weekly news blog on a Thursday which is basically the news from The Sims series and the wiki. I can say we're at a "so far, so good" status with this. I had started a draft page for the News Team, which by extension covers the news blogs and then I thought maybe we could expand on a few things to make the News Team more noteworthy.

:Only reason I'm really giving that a lot of consideration is mostly to prevent an excess of users applying. Obviously someone has to have a fluent-most-of-the-time approach to the English language and be willing to do a bit of research to be considered. I say we just leave the decision up to the bureaucrats, much in the manner of a rollback request albeit less formal and scrutinising. LabSig 20:34, March 17, 2013 (UTC)

::I think this would be a good idea. I don't know how all the technical stuff would work, but I reckon this would be a great idea for information about the wiki and the games. ~ Waikikamukow (Anyone wanna chat?) 05:35, March 25, 2013 (UTC)

I agree with Lab. While a few more users could come in handy, we do need moderation in the recruitment. Perhaps if we took a look at that user's fanons (if there are any), it could help in the decision process. DanPinSig10:37, March 25, 2013 (UTC)
:I'm interested into why you brought up fanon articles (mainly for arguments sake). Some sort of proof that a user is actually willing to contribute and maybe hit up Google for the sake of a few stories would be nice, akin being able to use fluent English most of the time. I'd say that users constantly adding new information to the namespace, provided it's irrefutable, would be good choices for this. LabSig 17:37, March 25, 2013 (UTC)

This is actually a pretty good idea. It would be great for non-admin users that aren't very well 'known' on the Wiki to contribute to the Wiki. But they would have to be a high contributor and up-to-date with what's going on in The Sims Wiki. It would also be nice to see different writing styles (if that makes sense...) I like it, but you'd have to be really careful picking news writers. People who actually know what's going on, unlike me. And maybe there should be a specific format they have to follow, so that some news thingies aren't more clear than others. Hurshbr (talk) 19:35, March 25, 2013 (UTC)Hurshbr
