I own The Sims 3 on disk. I am thinking of buying Late Night and Pets from Steam. Will they work with the disk version of The Sims 3? 71.88.189.217 (talk) 18:58, February 8, 2012 (UTC)

If the base game was from the DVD-ROM then any EPs/SPs you install would have to also be from a disc as expansions/stuff packs in Steam require the base game to be downloaded and installed via Steam. There may be a possible workaround but iirc, the digital version uses the horrible SecuROM DRM system while the disc-based version uses the older (and more convinient) copy protection used in The Sims 2 so I'm guessing any "cross incompatibility" is based on that. I can't speak for Origin though. Lost Labyrinth (c)(b) 19:04, February 8, 2012 (UTC)
