There has recently been a spurt of new pages being created about compilations of The Sims. This is on top of the pages we've already had about various compilations for that game. I'm proposing that all pages about The Sims game compilations be combined onto a single page.

There hasn't been a new TS compilation released since 2005, so there will likely be no meaningful information to add to the articles that already exist, most of which are at 'Stub' status (even if they're not marked as being Stubs). Combining the articles we currently have can help us sort out possible regional naming issues (eg. The Sims Complete Collection and The Sims Full House are the same game) and help us solidify our knowledge base.

Discussion[edit source]

I think this is quite a good idea, and could quite easily be implimented. Since, as this goes without saying, the games and other expansion/stuff packs will have their own articles, having the compilations altogether will make the desired compilation quick and easy to find, not to mention it'll reduce the number of stubs. I also think this would be a good idea. Per Ash's comments above, I support a merge. ~ Waikikamukow (Anyone wanna chat?) 07:21, June 11, 2013 (UTC)

If we're going to merge every single compilation page to an article, I'm not sure about that. But if we merge the volume-based compilations like Expansion Three-Pack and Expansion Collection, I couldn't agree more. Please excuse if I found it wrong. Nikel Talk Vote! 06:31, June 12, 2013 (UTC)

I was suggesting all of them. None of the compilations are really anything more than stub-length, and consolidating to articles based on volume won't really help. -- LostInRiverview talk ~ blog 07:06, June 12, 2013 (UTC)
Merging all compilation pages seem to be a good idea. Plus, as Ash stated, it would reduce the number of stubs. Beds (parlare - da leggere) 07:20, June 12, 2013 (UTC)

I do support the idea but a thought comes to mind. If we're doing this for TS1, why not do it for every "generation"? Do we really need individual pages for The Sims 3 Plus Pets, The Sims 3 Plus Showtime and so on? Lost Labyrinth (c)(b) 09:42, June 16, 2013 (UTC)

Honestly, that idea had occurred to me. The reason I didn't pursue it is because there are still new TS3 compilations, and it's not completely out of the question that a TS2 compilation (like one with all EPs, for example) could be released. I would support combining all compilations by generation, though I was hesitant to bring forward TS2 and TS3 as I didn't know if that would get as much support. -- LostInRiverview talk ~ blog 22:04, June 16, 2013 (UTC)
Considering the vast amount of new TS3 compilations, I think it would be best to combine them all by generation. It saves users trailing through article after article, trying to find the compilation they were looking for. It also leaves less clutters of articles with the same genre; compilation packs. Conclusion[edit source]

The idea of combining compilations for TS1 seems to have support. A discussion about merging all compilations, not just for TS1 has been proposed. In the meantime, we'll work on combining the TS1 compilations while we await a possible consensus on the others. -- LostInRiverview talk ~ blog 18:57, August 6, 2013 (UTC)
