so i have a question for all you sims 2 users out there. Does the Sims 2 work on Windows 7? I really want the game, but I have Windows 7 and my mom says Sims 2 won't work on windows 7. is it true? Please help. Thank you xx Morgsalexandra (talk) 21:45, December 15, 2012 (UTC)

I guess it varies from computer to computer. I have read about players who can't play on Windows 7, but a lot of them can. I have Windows 7 (x64), and I can run Sims 2 and it's expansion packs. I am only expariencing some loading crashes, but my graphic card is to blame. Make sure your graphics card is not integrated. Sorry I can't help more. Try searching online for more information. I've never had an issue running The Sims 2 on my Windows 7 machines (I've had two), even with an integrated graphics card. As long as your machine meets the minimum specifications and is otherwise operating fine, you shouldn't have any issues. If you do, try running the program in Compatibility Mode for an earlier version of Windows (like Windows XP) to see if it resolves the problem. -- LiR ^{speak ~ read} 21:58, December 15, 2012 (UTC)

I recently added The Sims 2 onto my new laptop that I got for my christmas and that had Windows 7 pre-installed on it. The games work really well and they suprisingly load a little bit faster than The Sims 3. I guess like the others have said, it depends on what type of laptop you have. It's worked for several years on mine. I'm about to upgrade to Windows 8 though (not by choice - I need a new computer and windows 7 isnt readily available anymore, especially after I spent all my money on the computer itself), and I'm wondering if sims2 will work on windows8.
