Hang Out is a social interaction available in The Sims 2: University. The interaction allows up to six Sims to sit down on the ground and talk in various seated and reclining position, increasing their relationships and fulfilling their social need. Sims of all ages can hang out, except for babies and toddlers. This interaction can occur either autonomously or by command.

The interaction can be commenced under "Talk..." interaction as "Hang out" to initiate a group conversation. Other sims can be then invited to join by executing the "Ask (Sim) To Hang Out" interaction. Likewise, a selected Sim can engage in an ongoing one by clicking on one of the sitting sims and commanding to "Hang Out With (Sim)".
