The hermit is an NPC that lives in Deep Woods, the secret lot of Granite Falls. They are randomly generated at the start of the game.

The hermit appears to be a Sim that has lived alone in Deep Woods with little or no contact with the outside world. They appear to have an interest in gardening, as they own a garden with tomatoes, blackberries, and other plants. They may also be skilled at fishing and wood crafting, given the pond and wood crafting station outside their house.The hermit would have a high skill in herbalism as (s)he is the only one that can teach one of the potion if you befriend (s)he

The hermit house is mostly made of wood, implying that the hermit built it on its own with the woodworking table next to the house
