Magical Growths come with the Makin' Magic Expansion Pack for The Sims. They are items that appear on a Residential lot and can help Sims by learning special abilities.

How to get a Magical Growth

To get a Magical Growth, a family must have cast 15 spells or charms while living on a residential lot, or 10 while living on a Magic Town residential lot. All spells and charms cast by adult family members count toward the number needed for a new growth, even if they were cast on community lots, but spells and charms used by children do not. After these numbers have been reached, the growths will start appearing. However, there are game modifications available for download that will allow a player to buy them instead of waiting for them.

Plants

These are plants that grow without any attention. The Solar Powered GEranium can be used as an end table. While Sims won't put things on it, they will use things that you put on it. The Root of the Problem doesn't do anything except look spooky, but selling it when it appears is a nice way to put extra simoleons in the family account.

The Beanstalk

The beanstalk starts small and grows until it reaches a pre-determined maximum height. If it grows tall enough, it becomes climbable and a Sim can climb up to a secret lot in the clouds to steal Magic Beans from a sleeping giant.
