After an experiment gone awry, the three sisters, who were trying to optimize the human body, were left with extremely fit physiques and the need for a new pupose in life. Indeed, when the game starts, each sister will become fit and may get a memory of losing weight, if ''[[The Sims 3: Generations|Generations]]'' is installed. However, none of the sisters have any history of being employed in the [[science (career)|science]] career track.

Mai is instead employed as Lieutenant in the [[Law Enforcement]] career track. She does not have any skills when the game starts.

Mai is good friends with both her sisters. Outside of her home, she is friends with [[Josie Crane]] and [[Joaquin Dorsey]], and will be acquainted with her boss and partner.
