According to Connor's memories, she had no hand in raising him and he has no memory of her death. This is odd, because it implies that Martha was dead before Connor was born, which is impossible. This is probably just the developers' oversight.

It is most likely that she was adopted, because her appearance barely resembles her mother's. According to Connor's memories, she had no hand in raising him and he has no memory of her death. This is extremely odd because the only way for this to happen is if the parent died while the other sim was pregnant, which is strange because Bryant would have to give birth to Connor which is not possible in normal gameplay without cheats or mods.
