It's hinted that she was to take over the family toyshop, but apparently she has other plans. Some have suggested shethat Melody will be an artist. While that is up to the player, she does start with five5 points in the [[creativity (skill)|creativity]] [[skill]], though she has no other skills.

SheMelody is a [[school|public school]] student, and has a C report card. When the player first loads the family, she is 14 days away from becoming an [[adult]]. Like her parents, Melody is very neat, and not too outgoing. Unlike them, she is not very playful, which may be one reason she doesn't want to run a toy shop.
