Michelle the Policewoman is the only pre-made NPC police officer in The Sims. She always comes when an alarm goes off, or when a Sim calls her while a burglar is on the lot. She will arrest the burglar peacefully, and will reimburse the family for what was stolen, as well as give them a §1000 reward. Also, Michelle does not drive a squad car, but arrives on foot. An explanation found in the game stated that the Police don't drive because they suspect the burglar had planted a bomb inside.[citation needed]
