Michelle the Policewoman is the only pre-made NPC police officer in The Sims. She always comes when an alarm goes off, or when a Sim calls her while a burglar is on the lot. She will arrest the burglar peacefully, and will reimburse the family for what was stolen, as well as give them a §1000 reward. Michelle does not drive a squad car; instead, she arrives and leaves on foot. An explanation found in the game stated that the Police don't drive because they suspect the burglar had planted a bomb inside.[citation needed] Sometimes, if she arrives after a burglar has left, she will scold the Sim for calling despite a burglar being on the lot. Otherwise, she will tell the Sim that it looks like the burglar got away. She can be greeted if she arrives on the lot but this will usually only be if she arrives during a false alarm and will immediately scold the greeting Sim. Other than that, she cannot be interacted with in any way.
